Electromechanic

At PMB, the electromechanic helps support the performance and safety of operations by maintaining the equipment under his or her responsibility to ensure performance and safety. They also carry out the necessary tests and, depending on the tasks assigned, may make improvements to devices to optimize their efficiency.

Main responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment and machinery. Understand the impact on plant flow and safety.
  • Monitor and perform preventive maintenance on various components of electrical, electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Test electromechanical components of equipment under his/her responsibility using test and measurement equipment.
  • Detect device faults and breakages.
  • Make any necessary replacements or repairs.
  • Machine various parts to manufacture, refurbish or modify them.
  • Participate in the development of preventive and structured maintenance plans for equipment and in employee training, depending on the position.
  • Suggest modifications to reduce breakage, improve safety and reliability.
  • Take responsibility for lockout of machinery when required.

Skills required

  • DEP in electromechanics.
  • Over 5 years’ experience (experienced/senior level).
  • Strong decision-making autonomy, acting as a reference.
  • Analytical and deductive skills (inspect, diagnose, test).
  • Ability to install, maintain and repair stationary mechanical and industrial equipment.
  • Read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Sense of work organization and priorities.
  • Versatility, autonomy and reliability.
  • Good communication skills and collaborative spirit.
  • Physically fit for a variety of tasks.
  • Driving ceiling lift, aerial platform and forklift required.

Working conditions

  • Daytime factory work. No evenings, no weekends, no emergency calls!
  • No old, patched-up machines.
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn (noise and dust).
  • Occasional work at height.
  • Dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Wide variety of tasks, participation in maintenance decisions and strategy.

Salary (experienced/senior): To be determined, between $29.46 and $41.26/hr. 40-hour week, paid on a weekly basis.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime, hours to be determined according to your family situation.
